Carol Pallesen
A fun filled two-day workshop creating a plethora of cards and boxes that would make wonderful gifts. We really do have a fun time at our workshops, the excitement of the projects, the beautiful papers, and where snacking on food offerings the guild members have brought to share and provide sustenance to our creative brains, hands and hearts brings us to a whole new level of accomplishment.

Carol Pallesen has been coming to Coos Bay/North Bend from Reno, Nevada, to offer her incredible workshops for over 15 years. I don't want to give the exact number because it will age us both. Her studio, The Silent Hand Scriptorium has been her base since around 1960 where she does calligraphy, cards, and book arts. She travels the world, to much acclaim,  and has done hundreds.... literally, hundreds of workshops,  and we are very fortunate to have her come to the coast again this year with a brand new workshop.

With Carol Pallesen you will never leave her workshops empty handed or empty hearted. The skills, friendship and joy of creating is but a part of what you'll carry home besides a bagful of projects that you've learned. She provides quality papers, paints, etc. and we bring basic supplies from a list though there's always plenty of sharing. The workshop can be appreciated by all levels of experience, a little experience in paper work i.e. folding, scoring, cutting, etc. will make things easier, never-the-less, there is always someone who will lend a helping hand.

If you plan on coming to Carol's workshop, here is a heads up:
Start saving
  • Used postage stamps with faces
